A new and increasingly important part of our immigration practice consists of helping clients comply with the numerous immigration statutes and regulations that fall under the jurisdiction of the Department of the Immigration Services in Tanzania and the Ministry of Labor, employment and youth. We assist clients in applications for work authorization and permanent residence permits.

Our firm acts as agent in obtaining work and residence permits from the Ministry of Labour and Immigration respectively on behalf of clients. We provide these services to Companies and Individuals who are intending to work and employ Non – citizens in Tanzania.

Recently, Tanzania has enacted new law regulating employment of non-citizens named, The Non-Citizens (Employment Regulation) Act, 2015 which came into force effective from September, 2015. 

All Non-Citizens who wishing to work in Tanzania are required to apply for Work permits which will be for the duration of two years and can be renewed subject to conditions provided by the regulation. This law has also replaced the Carry-out Temporary Assignments (CTA’s) by introducing the Short Term Work permits which is issued for duration of six months.
